Wondrous Signs in Heaven!
I. SATAN IS REAL
He’s Not just some philosophical idea, He is a real spiritual being.
Look at these descriptions of him.
A. The enormous Red Dragon. “Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on his heads.” Rev.12:3
Three reasons why when we read this it’s a struggle to understand it.
1. We need to Know Old Testament background. We do not know the Old Testament like they knew it back then.
2. We need to Understand the timeframe when it was written. We struggle understanding the New Testament meanings, because we don’t understand the old Testament times.
3. We tend to forget the primary message of the entire book is Hope.
B. Satan is the Serpent. Remember In The Garden! The serpent tempted Eve.
C. Satan is the Devil. The word “devil” literally means slanderer. He is the father of all lies.
D. He is our Adversary.
“Satan” means – adversary, is one who fights against us.
E. He will lead the world Astray. The devil probably did make you do it! Yes… Satan leads us astray but who agrees to go astray? We do!
F. Satan is the Accuser. First he tempts you to do something wrong, then as soon as you do it what happens? He immediately starts accusing you. Satan also accuses the saints before God in heaven.
II. OUR GOD WILL NOT BE DEFEATED.
“A great and wondrous sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. She was pregnant and cried out in pain as she was about to give birth. Rev. 12:1-2
God chose for Himself not only a people, He formed the Church.

The third character, is the most important character in (His)story, His Son! It is The incredible story of Good Over evil.
Evil has already been defeated.
III. THERE WILL BE VICTORY, BUT NOT WITHOUT A BATTLE
1. Satan’s primary battle is against Christ. “Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on his heads. His tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that he might devour her child the moment it was born. She gave birth to a son, a male child, who will rule all the nations with an iron scepter. And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne.” Revelation 12:3-5
“And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” Gen. 3:15
2. The battle takes place in Heaven. “There was war in heaven Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. vs.:7-9
God’s going to create a new heaven and a new earth that’s going to be eternally perfect and Peaceful no battles will be fought there. So there’s this war in heaven.
“He (Jesus) replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.” Luke 10:18
3. The battle is also against the Woman. (God’s Chosen) The woman fled into the desert to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1260 days. v.6
“When the dragon saw that he had been hurled to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the desert, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, out of the serpent’s reach” Vs. 13-14

You and I as believers whether Jew or Gentile, Satan hates us.
However, God Loves me!
“You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself.” Exodus 19:4
“Then from his mouth the serpent spewed water like a river, to overtake the woman and sweep her away with the torrent. But the earth helped the woman by opening its mouth and swallowing the river that the dragon had spewed out of its mouth.” V. 15-16
We’re in a battle, no doubt, but God is not going to give up on us.
“Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to make war against the rest of her offspring, those who obey God’s commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus. And the dragon stood on the shore of the sea.” v. 17
4. The battle is against All Believers.
Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say, “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.” Vs. 10-12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Eph. 6:12
“Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” 1st Peter 5:8
Three ways we get to be a part of the victory.
1. We Overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ.
2. We are Victorious by the word of our testimony.
3. We are a part of His victory when we Love the Lord above our own lives.
