How well do you know... Jack Hymbaugh?
Getting to know your church family!
Jack is one of our deacons. He has been coming to TMBC for 18 years and counting! (1982-1994 and back since 2017). He grew up in Hopedale, Illinois. He is involved with the food pantry every Tuesday and Thursday and holds a small bible study in his home on Thursday mornings. Jack enjoys helping people and you often find him at the church during the week fixing something.
Jack says his favorite thing about our church is that “You can really see the love between people.” His favorite bible verse is “Do not worry about anything but instead pray about everything and the peace of God…Philippians 4:6-8.
Doesn’t that sound like a great verse for someone who grew up in a town called Hopedale?
In the 70s he backslid and started doing things away from the Lord. But God brought him back and “whipped him into shape”. He believes people need to know that we fail! But God’s love makes it possible to come back.
He was in the service in Las Cruces, NM for 3 years at the White Sands Missile Range. (Thank you Jack for serving). He also worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company for almost 14 years. And he has served as a deacon in three other churches during his life as well!
He and his lovely wife, Mary, have been married for 60 years!!! Congrats!
We are so blessed to know Jack and have him and Mary as part of our church family. They are a blessing.
