Sept 2022 - KAT’S KORNER

In His timing.

Disappointment, loss, hurt, discouragement, heartache, sadness, confusion. These are feelings that we’ve all experienced in our lifetimes. Is this normal?

Recently, I have been working a lot and been irritable all day, every day. I am convinced that clients are getting meaner, and the world seems to feel entitled. This makes me wonder, “What is wrong with people?”

As Christians, how do we turn those feelings in to contentment, happiness, encouragement, and hope?

In Ecclesiastes, Solomon writes about how meaningless life is without God. It is more than that, though. I believe that everything happens for a reason even if we never learn what the reason is. A lot of things that happen make no sense to us and cause us to question our relationship with God. We need to be careful here and pay attention to not allow Satan the upper hand. He wants us to fail and think that we will always be in this rut and that there is nothing we can do to get ourselves out and on the right track.

Recently, one of my coworkers approached me with a question that had been haunting her since I told her she had to let it go and give it to God or she was going to make herself crazy. She had been stressed to the max with the loss of multiple pets, worrying about the family, and work on top of everything else. She felt alone and weak and lacking in her relationship with God. She asked, “How do I give it to God?”

How can we help one another find the positive in living for Christ? 1 Peter 5:7 says, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” Give it to God and keep the faith. “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1 Everything happens in His time, not ours. The sooner we accept that and give it to God, the sooner we can live in joy and peace.

Since our heart to heart, we have both realized that God is playing an active role in our lives. We talked, we cried, we prayed, and in the days that followed, God reminded us of our blessings amidst our stress. We can now see the light at the end of the tunnel that wasn’t clear until then.

Love you All, Miss Kat
