HOW MUCH DOES GOD CARE ABOUT ME?
The most important thing you believe in life is what you believe about God.
What really matters is the truth.
I. GOD CARES ENOUGH TO REVEAL HIMSELF TO ME.
“A light for revelation to the Gentiles and for glory to your people Israel.” Luke 2:32
“Christ is the visible image of the invisible God.” Col. 1:15 NLT
“Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father.” John 14:9
Jesus made a lot of amazing statements: “I am the only way to heaven.” “I am the way the truth and the life. Nobody comes to the Father but by Me. … I’m the door…. I’m the bread of life … I’m the water of life…”
He wants to have a personal relationship with you so He has given us some clues. He’s been very clear about who and what He is like. One way is through creation.
II. HE CARES ENOUGH TO RESCUE ME.
Remember when the angels at Christmas came and announced Jesus’ birth they said, “…Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:10-11
A. Jesus came to rescue me from the guilt of my past.
The Lord Jesus Christ is the One “who gave Himself for our sins so that He might rescue us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father.” He gave Himself for our sins; He paid the penalty and provided atonement. Gal. 1:4
B. He came to rescue me from a meaningless life. “…I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10
C. Jesus Christ came to rescue me from the fear of death. Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death.
Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying. Heb. 2:14-15 NLT
This is what Easter is all about. Jesus Christ broke the power of death and as a result that’s why we celebrate today. Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26
III. HE CARES ENOUGH TO RELATE TO ME PERSONALLY.
God sent His Son to restore His relationship with humanity. He didn’t hold people’s faults against them. God wants to have a personal intimate relationship with you.
“For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.” Rom. 5:10-11.
God has promised if you develop a relationship with Him, He will take care of you. “And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” Phil. 4:19 That’s not a promise for everybody.
It’s only for those who are in Christ Jesus
Those who have a close personal relationship with Him!
“All who are under the yoke of slavery should consider their masters worthy of full respect, so that God’s name and our teaching may not be slandered.” 1st Tim. 6:1
Some people have missed the most important thing in life. They don’t know God in a personal way.
“I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and how long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” Eph. 3:16-19
