TAKING OUR COMMUNITY BY STORM
TAKING OUR COMMUNITY BY STORM
“You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus and the things that you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses, entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.” 2nd Tim. 2:1-2
To take what God has given us and not share it with somebody else is Wrong and Disobedient!
It is the mission of every believer, to share the good news of Jesus. However when you do, you enter into a spiritual battle. Its war!
“Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs. He wants to please his commanding officer.” Vs. 3-4
When you became a believer, you were recruited into God’s army, The Original Salvation Army!
Similarly, if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not receive the victor’s crown unless he competes according to the rules. The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops. Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all of this.” vs. 2:5-7
There’s three illustrations: the soldier, the farmer, and the athlete.
What do they have in common?
They’re hardworking. They’re disciplined. They are trained. They’re goal oriented. They’re Dedicated, Persistent and Patient.
“For our fight is not against any physical enemy. It is against organizations and powers that are spiritual. We are up against the unseen power that controls this dark world and spiritual agents from the very headquarters of evil.” Eph. 6:12 Phillips
1. IT IS A MISSION THAT MATTERS !
“Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, descended from David. This is my gospel, for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God’s word is not chained. Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.” 2nd Tim. 2:8-10
As the army of God: We can’t retreat and we certainly don’t want to surrender.
Jesus said, “And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.” Matt. 16:18 (NKJ)
2. LEADERSHIP THAT LEADS ! God is our primary leader.
“He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young.” Isaiah 40:11
Five qualities, characteristics that are different.
A) Their Integrity.
B) Their Vulnerability and Compassion.
C) Their Humility.
D) Their Commitment, Conviction, and Decisiveness.
E) Their Confident, Positive Attitudes.
3. PROPER, PRIOR TRAINING !
“No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.” Heb. 12:11
4. A SOLID STRATEGY !
“Here is a trustworthy saying: If we died with him, we will also live with him; If we endure, we will also reign with him.
If we disown him, he will also disown us.
If we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself.” 2nd Tim 2:11-13
A) A single concept of operation. B) Flexibility in execution. C) Empower the people in the field to make their own decisions. D) Rely on mobility. E) Control of the air and airwaves.
What the enemy knows about you counts, It comes down to Image.
What is the image of Tucson Mountain Church in our community?
F) Concentrate your forces on the enemy’s weaknesses.
5. ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
The use of high tech will enable us to be a high touch ministry.
Why shouldn’t we use the worlds weapons for God’s advancement?
