Christmas Song

Shepherds watching by an open fire
A virgin with no place to go
A song of good news from a heavenly choir
And a child wrapped up in swaddling clothes
What a place God chose
To show us all the things foretold
They had never seen a star so bright
Shepherd boys with their eyes all aglow
Will not be counting sheep tonight
They know that Christ is born today
For God has given Him to take our sins away!
They see a mother smile, a baby cry
As she lays him in a manger in the night
And so I’m offering this simple phrase
Because of what Christ came to do
So you know what I mean in my heart when I say
MERRY CHRISTMAS to you!
