Hello everyone!
I just had to MAKE myself go for a walk this morning. Most of you probably know why: because I’m getting OLD! Now, some of you “older” folks are aging well. You can walk and work and do other things without much problem. Some of us, on the other hand - not so much! We’ve got back pain, leg pain, knee pain, hip pain, neck pain, Arthritis, etc…(I don’t have room for the whole list) But the key word is PAIN. It just hurts to do things as we get older.
And as we get older, we naturally start thinking more about our Heavenly Home, our Heavenly Bodies and all the joys and blessings that God has promised us when we leave this world and are reunited with loved ones in His eternal Kingdom in Heaven.
As I was walking, I was thinking about these things. I noticed a little change in the weather. The heat of Summer is finally fading and Fall is slowly approaching. And this brings back some welcome memories of the blessings of harvest, cooler weather, the smell of the first fireplaces being lit, the changing colors in God’s Creation, warm family gatherings and the delicious and delightful foods we look forward to every year.
And in the same way, we see glimpses of Heaven that is promised to us while we are still here in this world. And we know, as sure as the seasons will come and go each year, that God will keep His promise to give us all we need to endure the pain and serve Him joyfully and faithfully until He calls us home, or snatches us away!
