Jose Mendez
Jose grew up in Sells, Arizona on the Tohono
O'odham reservation. He’s been a born-again Christian for 16 years and found God when he started going to a Baptist church with Crystal (now his wife) and her grandparents. He said “I fully understood it, I fell in love with it.” They tried a couple of churches before coming to TMBC, but they joined our church because, “It was very different, family-oriented.” That was nine years ago! He says he remembers Linda Baker taking care of Tyler when he was just three years old! Jose says he’s learned so much and loves hearing everybody's thoughts about different Bible verses. He also attends Men’s Bible Study on Monday nights. “Being around that group of men has helped me to be a better Godly man. They are very important to me.” When asked what he likes to do for fun, the first thing Jose says is to spend time with his kids! He also likes cooking and baseball (Go Red Sox!).
You may remember that their two boys, Cameron & Tyler, were just baptized on February 26, 2023.
Fun Fact: Jose and his family like to have Family Game Night and his favorite game to play is “Can’t Catch Harry.”
